We invest our own capital.
Proprietary trading firms are self-contained investment vehicles (like single-family offices) viewed as market participants, not service providers. Ichthys Capital does not manage client money, advise investors, or execute orders for others. As a prop trading firm, it uses its own funds to trade financial instruments for profit. It has no external clients, investors, or third-party assets under management.
The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA) defines “regulated activities” — like investment advice, portfolio management, or dealing on behalf of clients.
Ichthys Capital deals as principal (i.e., on its own account) and not as agent for others, those activities fall outside FCA regulation.
